On 20 March 2026, H.E. Mrs. Krongkanit Rakcharoen, Ambassador of Thailand to the Lao PDR, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Leklai Sivilay, Minister of Public Works and Transport of the Lao PDR, on the occasion of her assumption of duties. On this occasion, Minister Leklai conveyed his congratulations on the success of the State Visit to the Lao PDR by Their Majesties King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua and Queen Suthida Bajrasudhabimalalakshana, during 16-18 March 2026, noting that the visit is a historic milestone that further strengthens the close ties between Thailand and the Lao PDR. Both sides also exchanged views on ways to advance bilateral cooperation in infrastructure development and connectivity between Thailand and the Lao PDR.
