On 28 July 2026, Mrs. Krongkanit Rakcharoen, Ambassador of Thailand to the Lao PDR, presided over a ceremony in celebration of His Majesty the King’s Birthday Anniversary at the Thai Residence in Vientiane. The activities comprised an alms-giving ceremony, the offering of royal tributes, a candle-lighting ceremony, the delivery of remarks in honour of His Majesty the King, an oath-taking ceremony in which officials pledged to be good civil servants and a force for the nation, and the signing of a well-wishing book. Also presented at the ceremony were officials of the Royal Thai Embassy in Vientiane, and members of Team Thailand, and their spouses.

On this auspicious occasion, the Royal Thai Embassy in Vientiane, in cooperation with Team Thailand, hosted a luncheon and donated food supplies and vocational training equipment, to the teachers and students of the Vocational School for the Disabled Sikeud. Established in 1999 by the Sisters of St. Paul of Chartres in Thailand, the School is currently under the supervision of the Ministry of Health of the Lao PDR.
