On 11 February 2026 H.E. Mrs. Krongkanit Rakchaoen, Ambassador-Designate of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Lao PDR, presented a copy of the Letter of Credence to Mr. Outtama Sithiphong, Director-General of the Protocol Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Lao PDR, followed by a meeting with Dr. Bounthanongsack Chanthalath, Director-General of the Asia-Pacific and Africa (APA) Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lao PDR, and a courtesy call on H.E. Mrs. Phongsamouth Anlavan, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Lao PDR. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the close relations between Thailand and the Lao PDR, as both countries recently celebrated the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations in 2025. The Ambassador-Designate took this opportunity to reaffirm the commitment to further strengthening the bilateral ties through various activities and utilizing the existing bilateral mechanism for the benefits of both peoples.
