On 9 February 2026, H.E. Mrs. Krongkanit Rakcharoen, Ambassador of Thailand to the Lao PDR, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Edi Irwan bin Mahmud, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Lao PDR and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps.  H.E. the Ambassador of Malaysia briefed the Thai Ambassador on his working experiences in the Lao PDR in his capacities of Malaysian Ambassador since 2023 and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps since 2025. Both sides also exchanged views on political and economic situation in the Lao PDR and ASEAN region.
