On 28 October – 7 November 2025, the Royal Thai Embassy in Vientiane organised the signing   of the book of condolence in remembrance of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother at the Thai Ambassador’s Residence. On this occasion, members of the diplomatic corps and representatives of international organisations in the Lao PDR from 31 countries/organisations signed the book of condolence, and were welcomed by Ms. Jirusaya Birananda, Chargé d’ Affaires, a.i. and Embassy’s officials. A total of 31 representatives attended the signing of the book of condolence comprising 25 embassies in the Lao PDR including Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Canada, China, Cuba, Germany, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Russia Singapore Timor-Leste, Turkey, the United Kingdom the United States of America, Vietnam and the European Union, as well as 6 international organisations including the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the Office of the UN Resident Coordinator, the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Mekong River Commission Secretariat, and the World Bank.
