On December 24, 2024, H.E. Ambassador Morakot Sriswasdi met H.E. Mr. Ngampasong Muongmany, the Minister of Public Works and Transport of Lao PDR. They discussed on enhancing bilateral cooperation, focusing on key infrastructure projects.
Key topics included the construction plan for the sixth Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge (Ubon Ratchathani-Saravan), which will connect Ubon Ratchathani in Thailand with Saravan province in Laos. They also reviewed the progress of the fifth Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge (Buengkan-Bolikhamxai) which is currently over 90% completed, the Luangprabang-Chiangman Bridge, supported by the Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (NEDA), and the BRT in Vientiane.
Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to working together for mutual benefit, highlighting the strong partnership between Thailand and Laos.
