On 8 September 2025, H.E. Mr. Thongsavanh Phomvihane, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Lao PDR, on behalf of the Government of the Lao PDR, conferred the Cross of Friendship Medal upon H.E. Ms. Morakot Sriswasdi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Lao PDR. The Cross of Friendship was awarded in recognition of her outstanding contributions to the promotion of the relations and cooperation between Thailand and the Lao PDR. The award ceremony was attended by Mr. Bovonethat Douangchak, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Lao PDR, senior executives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Lao PDR, and officials from the Royal Thai Embassy in Vientiane.

 

On this occasion, Ambassador expressed her sincere gratitude to the Government of the Lao PDR for bestowing upon her the Cross of Friendship, which is regarded as a great honour and a meaningful symbol of her completion of duty as the Ambassador of Thailand to the Lao PDR. She also extended her appreciation to the Government, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and all sectors of the Lao PDR for their continued support, cooperation, goodwill, and warm hospitality extended to her and the Royal Thai Embassy in Vientiane throughout her tenure.

The Cross of Friendship is an honourary decoration of the Central Committee of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party presented to foreign individuals in recognition of their significant achievements in promoting friendship, advancing relations, and enhancing cooperation with the Lao PDR.
